Pizza connoisseurs are happily sated in Salida. There’s Moonlight Pizza, which ranks high among Colorado’s lofty list of tastiest pie. And there’s Amicas, which combines microbrewed beer with wood-fired pizza, making it a favorite among Chaffee County’s growing army of beer-swilling pie hounds. A spring bock or a fresh black and tan perfectly complements the crispy, thin-crust pie speedily served at Amicas. It’s good pie too: not overly cheesy or saucy while laden with fresh toppers. A deep menu of grilled panini sammies, calzones and salads round out the selection at the Salida-chic eatery.
Get there — Both are in the main section of Salida. Moonlight Pizza is at 242 F. St., 719-539-4277; Amicas is at 136 E. Second St., 719-539-5219.
