“THE YIDDISH ARE COMING … THE YIDDISH ARE COMING!” From the creators of the campy show-biz satire “Ruthless! The Musical!” comes this lighthearted revue built loosely around a guy who wants to be in show business. They want a Jew. His name is Christian Von Trapp. Oy! It’s got songs like “Yinglish 101” and “Borscht Belt Betty.” 8 p.m. Tuesdays-Saturdays, 3 p.m. Wednesdays and Sundays through July 16 at the New Denver Civic Theatre, 721 Santa Fe Drive. Tickets $34.50-$39.50 (303-309-3773).
“AS IT IS IN HEAVEN” Breckenridge’s Backstage Theatre is staging the regional premiere of Arlene Hutton’s play about an 1838 Shaker woman whose visions of angels disrupt her community of Pleasant Hill, Ky. 7:30 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays through June 17 at 121 S. Ridge St. Tickets $15 (970-453-0199 or backstagetheatre.org).
“EQUUS” Audiences never seem to tire of a freaky 17-year-old boy spiking horses’ eyes out. Lake Dillon Theatre’s talented Josh Blanchard is the latest spiker, and Gary Ketzenbarger his horrified doctor. 7:30 p.m. Fridays-Sundays through June 18 at 176 Lake Dillon Drive. Tickets $12-$15 (970-513-9386 or lakedillontheatre.org).

DANIELSON The odd alt-country of Danielson will take over the Hi-Dive tonight, which is exciting on multiple levels. The band is supporting a terrific new record, “Ships,” and members are also playing with their good friends in Wovenhand, David Eugene Edwards’ post-16 Horsepower band.
SLAYER Metalheads all come together at the base of Slayer’s throne, and the July 26th show at the Fillmore will be, in a word, heavy.
BIG JAPAN Fans of “The OC” will surely be at the Marquis tonight, where Adam Brody’s band, Big Japan, is playing.
THE LIARS You like dancey indie rock? So do The Liars, who play Tuesday at the Hi-Dive.
