Denver-based comedian Josh Blue was crowned the king of comedy Wednesday night, becoming the “Last Comic Standing” on the fourth season of the NBC show. Blue survived a two-month competition against 11 other comics, with contenders eliminated one by one from the show each week.
Blue, who weaves his cerebral palsy into his standup act, was overjoyed. “It feels awesome. Feels great,” he said Wednesday after he had been declared the winner in a 90-minute special episode of the show.
Blue said he’s looking forward to a half-hour special on Bravo, one of the perks of his victory, but said he’s really anticipating the development deal with NBC, which gives him the chance to present his ideas for a situation comedy.
He’s also excited about returning to Denver. “I haven’t been home in a month, and it will be awesome to come back.”
His TV fame is preceding him. His two shows Friday at the Gothic Theatre and another in Fort Collins on Saturday are sold out.
