Oops! A caller this week blurted out a double expletive on “The Mike Rosen Show” on KOA 850-AM. Radio stations, particularly talk stations, are wary of such lapses and use a delay to block off-color language. KOA missed on this one.

A replay of Rosen’s Tuesday show is on KOA’s website but the offending words involving a sex act and a human body part have disappeared.

Rosen’s on-air apology is there, however. “It is our responsibility to have that delay system working,” he explained, quickly. “It wasn’t functioning the way it should be. We’ll try to keep that from happening in the future.”

Rosen said on Wednesday he thinks that will be enough to keep the FCC or owner Clear Channel off KOA’s back. “If I had said it, we’d be in deep trouble. Normally, our (7-second) delay would protect us.”

Weekend highlights

Today

The premiere of “Cover Shot” promises to transform an everyday woman into a glamorous model. A real model, Frederique van der Wal, hosts (8 p.m., TLC).

Saturday

Despite numerous artistic shortfalls, “The Fantasia Barrino Story,” about the “American Idol” winner, who plays herself, is inspiring (7 p.m., Lifetime).

Sunday

“Star Trek” fans will enjoy seeing their idol Captain Kirk not-so-subtly toasted on “Roast of William Shatner.” Jason Alexander hosts (11 p.m., Comedy Central).

Still in the biz

“The Coach” is back. Rick Marshall, aka The Coach, who was cut loose in April by KXKL 105.1-FM (“KOOL”), is on the air.

It’s not the deejay chatter he did at KOOL. It’s about saving us money in day-to-day living.

“The Coach Savings Show” at 4 p.m. Saturdays on KHOW 630-AM seeks out bargains in entertainment, dining and household goods. The show also is a pitch for Marshall’s pay-for-use website, coachsavings.com.

Columbine fundraiser

April Zesbaugh and Steffan Tubbs, hosts of KOA’s “Colorado Morning News,” Thursday launched a campaign to help raise $220,000 for the Columbine Memorial.

Zesbaugh, Tubbs and business reporter Gregg Moss each started the ball rolling with $500 donations. The $1.5-million memorial is scheduled to break ground in the spring.
