Golden – Vincent Margera, who portrayed “Uncle Don Vito” in the MTV prank show “Viva La Bam,” was formally charged Wednesday with two counts of sexual assault on a child.
Margera, 50, appeared in Jefferson County Court with his attorney, Pamela Mackey, who represented former Colorado Avalanche goalie Patrick Roy in a 2000 domestic violence case and NBA star Kobe Bryant in a 2004-05 sexual assault case.
Margera was arrested Friday night by Lakewood police at the skatepark at Colorado Mills mall, where he was making an autograph- signing appearance.
He is accused of inappropriately touching a 12-year girl and a 14-year-old girl in two separate incidents.
Margera was in Colorado to do filming for ManiaTV.com.
The judge denied Mackey’s request to allow Margera to return to his home in Pennsylvania. A condition of his $50,000 bond, which was posted late Monday, bars him from leaving the state without permission.
A hearing on the request to return to his Pennsylvania home and to travel on business will be held Monday. Prosecutors asked for a continuance so that the assistant district attorney handling Margera’s case could be involved.
A date for Margera’s preliminary hearing will be set at the Monday session.
When reporters asked Margera for a comment after Wednesday’s court appearance, Mackey shook her finger vigorously.
