Greg Hammer was on his way to drop a daughter at college when she lamented that she’d always wanted her picture taken with this mighty bruin. On the way home, he stopped and snapped this shot. Where is it? Hint: It’s not the mascot for Hammer’s home team of the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. Tell us what you know about this beast in an e-mail to ColoradoSunday@denverpost.com. Include a digital photo of yourself, and don’t forget to include your hometown in the message. Our favorite wins a $50 gas card.
How’d you know?
Last week: Wade Morris’ cowpoke, Flagler
Winner: Dolores Crisp, Flagler
This carved tree stump is the Western welcome statue in Flagler’s Town Park. We have other carvings, as well, in this town. A bear, a guy mowing and an eagle are displayed; we also have a missile, fighter jet and wonderful playground at the park. Our community offers a swimming pool, nine-hole golf course and numerous activities for all ages year round. My granddaughter Muriel Watts is featured in the photo.
