
The annual Highland Festival has brought a thousand dancers and tens of thousands of fans to Estes Park over the years. This year’s Longs Peak Scottish/Irish Highland Festival will be the 30th, and it’s bigger than ever. From jousting to bagpipes to crafts, the festival overruns the town and surrounding meadows; for those who are not fans of a street fair, Rocky Mountain National Park awaits in the near background.
What: 30th Annual Longs Peak Scottish/Irish Highland Festival.
Where: Estes Park Fairgrounds, other locations
When: Noon to 5 p.m. Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; concerts at night
What’s to do: USA/International Jousting Championships, dog show, highland and Irish dancing exhibitions.
Families: Festival parade through downtown Estes Park, at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, including drill teams, pipe bands, dancers and clan tartans.
