An Arvada man with two prior drunken driving arrests was arrested again for investigation of drunken driving and vehicular homicide after he allegedly ran over and killed a man driving a scooter Tuesday night.
Patrick Moore, 45, of Arvada, was arrested for suspected DUI, vehicular homicide and failure to notify police, said Susan Medina, Arvada police spokeswoman.
Mario Draves, 21, of California was killed in the 7:30 p.m. accident on the intersection of 64th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard, Medina said.
Draves was driving northbound on Sheridan when he turned his Vespa scooter left on westbound 64th Avenue when he was struck by a red Dodge pickup truck going southbound on Sheridan, she said.
A second dark-colored pickup truck also rammed the scooter, causing more severe injuries, Medina said. The driver of the second pickup truck then fled, she said.
Based on descriptions by witnesses, authorities arrested Moore later Tuesday night at his house.
