How long have you lived in Colorado? Where did you live before? Seven years in Colorado. Previously lived in Houston, Texas; southern California; Minnesota.
Last book read: Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert.
Civic involvement: I’m running as a citizen candidate to continue and build upon the accomplishments of the 2006 state legislative session.

Why are you running? I’m very concerned with what is happening to our country. Solutions start at home; I chose HD 45 because this is where I live and I would like to provide solutions for my community.
What are the top three challenges facing Colorado or the institution you seek to represent? We are living in a very competitive global economy and I’m very concerned about the availability of an affordable, quality education for the citizens of Colorado. We need to ensure all Coloradans have access to affordable health care. Colorado has an excellent opportunity to take the leadership role in the development and implementation of renewable energy.
What is your top priority in the next session if you should win? Ensuring that the funds from voter approved Referendum C continue to be wisely spent for funding our public schools and ensuring affordable higher education is available.
What proposal in the last session did you oppose the most? I believe there was a proposal that lowered standards for school principals that didn’t make it past the House Education committee.
What proposal in the last session did you agree with the most? I was very pleased with how the House allocated the voter approved Referendum C funds. The funds were allocated to health care, education and transportation.
