Why are you running? I want to see Colorado become the leader that it should be in health care for its citizens, in education for its children, in conservation for its water, alternative energy. I also want to insure a quality of life for our senior citizens through affordable drugs and health care as well as protection from abuse.
What are the top three challenges facing Colorado or the institution you seek to represent?
1. Health Care: Work to establish an affordable and portable method of health care insurance for Colorado workers.
2. Education: I will work to establish a method to prepare every student in Colorado for life through education.
3. Jobs and illegal immigration: Working together, (all members of the House), to find real solutions to all of these challenges will make Colorado the leader it should be in the country.
What is your top priority in the next session if you should win? To be accountable. I started my listening campaign in September, 2005. I have a goal of turning House District 28 into a community of neighbors all working towards the common good. I want to earn the trust of the people through honest, two-way discussions on the issues that are important to all Coloradans.
What proposal in the last session did you oppose the most? Any bill or proposal that gives one person or group of people more rights than others. Any bill that denies any person or group of people the rights held by other people or groups of people.
What proposal in the last session did you agree with the most? SB 1. The bill that would create the Colorado Cares prescription drug program. The veto of the bill by the Governor was a real blow to the people of Colorado.
