
Tylor Kelly is a senior in a class of 40 at Soroco High School in Oak Creek.
Tylor was elected head boy to lead the student government. He drafted a proposal for a new weighted-grade system for administrators, teachers and students to evaluate and discuss. The proposal is being considered by a faculty committee.
Tylor took four college-level classes last school year that were offered at the high school but followed the curriculum guidelines of Colorado Northwestern Community College.
He was the junior varsity football team captain in his junior year and was awarded a varsity letter.
He has a grade-point average of 3.76.
He was chosen by the Yampa Valley Electric Association to serve as one of two representatives from Routt County to the National Youth Day conference in Washington, D.C., in June.
Tylor was an election judge for this summer’s primary election and plans to be one again for the general election in November.
He has been accepted into Colorado State University and Mesa State College for next year. His major is undecided but will possibly be physiology.
