NEW YORK-
Spas in Thailand and Hong Kong topped a list of the world’s best spas, as chosen by readers of Travel + Leisure magazine, but spas in Arizona took three of the top six spots.
The Chiva-Som International Health Resort in Hua Hin, Thailand, was rated No. 1 among destination spas, followed by the Grand Hyatt spa in Hong Kong. Mii amo in Sedona, Ariz., was next, followed by Wilderness Adventure Spa at Spring Creek Ranch, Jackson Hole, Wyo., and Canyon Ranch in Tucson, Ariz. Miraval, Life in Balance, in Catalina, Ariz., came in sixth.
The Westglow Resort & Spa in Blowing Rock, N.C., was No. 7, followed by the Golden Door in Escondido, Calif., Maya Tulum Wellness Retreat & Spa, Pueblo Tulum, N.M., and Rancho La Puerta in Tecate, Mexico, finishing up the top 10.
Travel + Leisure’s readers also voted on their favorite hotel spas. The top five in the continental U.S. and Canada were the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, in Grande Lakes, Fla.; the Mandarin Oriental, Miami; the Park Hyatt, Toronto; the Four Seasons Resort, Jackson Hole, Wyo., and the Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch, Beaver Creek, Colo.
