An 11-year-old boy and his 16-year-old cousin, missing since Wednesday, have been found alive and well at a relative’s home in Mexico.

Hector Gonzales, 11, and Luis Cuevas, 16, were reported to be with a grandmother in Chihuahua, Mexico last night. They had traveled there with Edson Alonso, 35, a friend of the Gonzales family. The last time the boys had been seen was leaving Cowell Elementary School Wednesday afternoon.

Denver police reported they received a call Thursday night from the grandmother, who said that Alonso and Cuevas fled from her home when she made the call to police. She said Gonzales is in good condition.

Denver Police said they are investigating the incident with the possibility of federal kidnapping charges being filed.
