DENVER – A Denver sheriff’s deputy was arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a relative, Aurora police said Monday.
Donald Rhodes, 41, has been a deputy sheriff since 1994, said Denver sheriff’s Sgt. Frank Gale.
Rhodes was taken into custody Friday by the Aurora police and members of the Denver SWAT team, police said.
The decision was made to use the SWAT team because Rhodes is a deputy with access to firearms, Aurora police said.
Rhodes was booked on $50,000 bail in the Arapahoe County Jail on Friday. He is no longer in custody, Gale said.
The Denver Sheriff’s Department has placed Rhodes on leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
