The American Alpine Club and the Colorado Mountain Club will team up to create a museum in Golden to document and celebrate America’s history of mountain climbing. To be called the Bradford Washburn American Mountaineering Museum, it will open in early 2008. Washburn was a climber, a pioneer of aerial photography, and the director of the Boston Museum of Science from 1939-80.
