Freshman guard Tahnee Robinson has left Wyoming women’s basketball team for personal reasons, coach Joe Legerski said Tuesday.
The 5-foot-10 Robinson, of Fort Washakie, Wyo., played in one regular-season game, against Northern Colorado. Legerski declined further comment.
The Cowgirls signed two 6-3 recruits who play forward and center. Joining the Cowgirls next season will be Hillary Carlson, an all-stater from Cheyenne Central High School, and Irena Vankova from the Czech Republic and a high school in Tucson.
Rapids release six players
The Colorado Rapids cut six players including Denver native Aaron King, a forward who did not play for the Major League Soccer team this past season. Also released were defender Eric Denton, midfielder Alain Nkong and forwards Luchi Gonzalez, Sasha Gotsmanov and Melvin Tarley. Denton played in 22 games this past season and Nkong played in five.
CSU signs Conifer track star
Bobby Potrykus of Conifer High School, who set a Class 4A state record and won a state championship in the 800 meters, accepted a track scholarship with Colorado State.
Elizabeth Kramer of Arvada West will play softball at Colorado Mines. Kramer’s pitching helped A-West win two district championships.
Alamosa’s Crystal Loch, a 5-7 guard who was an all- conference selection the past two seasons for the Mean Moose, will continue her basketball career in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference with Adams State.
