DID YOU KNOW

Women Build

Women Build, a program of Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver, will give away a Habitot playhouse in a fundraising raffle on Dec. 17. The funds generated from the raffle of the playhouse, made by the group, will help pay for the Women Build Habitat house that will be constructed in 2007.

A booth at Colorado Mills mall will have the playhouse on display, information about Women Build and lapel pins for sale Friday through Sunday, and then Thursdays through Sundays, Nov. 30 to Dec. 17.

Each holiday season for the past three years, volunteers have built a children’s playhouse that has been raffled.

Women Build began in 1995 and has constructed more than 15 Habitat for Humanity houses. The group’s committee meets throughout the year to raise funds, coordinate volunteers, organize educational projects, monitor construction and build the houses.

Volunteers are needed to staff the booth at Colorado Mills through Dec. 17. To volunteer, visit http://denver.volunteerhub.com, and click on “Habitot Showcase.”
