Durango-Construction of a road to a planned development at the base of Wolf Creek Ski Area won’t begin until a federal judge rules on the U.S. Forest Service’s approval of the project.
Last week, a federal judge temporarily blocked construction of the road until he could hold an emergency hearing on the road, which had been scheduled for Tuesday. But lawyers for both sides have instead agreed to wait until a full review of the all issues.
Ryan Bidwell, executive director of Colorado Wild, said Monday that a ruling would likely come during the winter. Until then, he said there will be no construction allowed at the site.
“It just preserves the status quo while the case is going on,” Bidwell said.
Under the agreement, the Forest Service and the developers will still be allowed to hold meetings and discuss planning for the project.
