
Young Lim is a senior enrolled in the International Baccalaureate Program at Smoky Hill High School in the Cherry Creek district in Aurora.
He is the editor of Smoky Hill Express, the school newspaper, and was an intern for The Aurora Sentinel.
This summer, Young attended J-Camp, a journalism camp at New York University. He was one of 40 students chosen from more than 500 applicants.
Young’s school honors include the Gregor Mendel Award in Advanced Placement biology and the Euler Award in IB pre-calculus.
He is vice president of the school’s Red Cross Club-Youth Corps.
At Smoky Hill Library, Young started STYC Studios, a community organization that makes posters for upcoming children’s programs. He is also a member of the library’s teen advisory board.
Young plans to become a science journalist and to eventually start his own science newsmagazine.
Young has a 4.0 grade-point average. He has applied to Harvard University under the Early Action program.
