A film feast spanning waters as diverse as the Gulf of Mexico, the Rocky Mountains, Baja California and New Zealand will be the centerpiece of a fundraiser to benefit the conservation programs of Denver Trout Unlimited.
Collected first for a film festival in conjunction with the Fly Tackle Dealers World Expo in Denver in August, the series of five-minute short subjects is highlighted by a segment featuring Frank Smethurst’s chase for rooster fish along the Baja coast. Gulf redfish and rainbow trout in the Rockies and New Zealand complete an action-packed series.
Tickets to a 6 p.m. Jan. 4 event at The Mile High Station, 2027 W. Colfax Ave., cost $20 in advance, $25 at the door. Proceeds will be used toward an Eagle River Restoration project, the Clear Creek Greenway project and a Buffalo Peaks project in South Park.
A silent auction offers a variety of outdoor and fly-fishing gear. For information, call 303-717-9047.
