Don Cheadle’s long-awaited directorial debut of “Tishomingo Blues,” based on Elmore Leonard’s novel, has been put on hold, the New York Post reported. Producer Bob Yari postponed the project, which Cheadle had agreed to helm in 2002. The Denver East High School grad’s agent would not discuss the film’s fate.
How about this for an odd friendship: Brad Pitt and “Borat” creator Sacha Baron Cohen? That’s what the New York Post’s Cindy Adams claims. The two love art, architecture and film, and have become pals. Cohen introduced Pitt to graffiti artist Banksy, from whom Pitt bought a $400,000 painting. Pitt and Cohen are working on a possible film project, Adams reported.
Michael Jackson is getting help on his next album from Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am, MTV News reported. The hip-hop producer-performer has had regular phone conversations with Jackson and said the pop star is enthusiastic to start on the CD in October. “He still sings like a bird,” he said of Jackson. “I think we have a real opportunity to do something here. It’s either going to be really big or nobody’s going to care. Ain’t no middle ground on this one.”
Eva Longoria has told fiancé Tony Parker he will not be having a bachelor party, In Touch Weekly reported. The couple became engaged in November and the San Antonio Spurs point guard has been planning a bash with his NBA buddies since. A source said: “Eva thinks letting men have bachelor parties is just asking for trouble.”
Michael Feinstein, invited to the White House, accepted only if his partner, Terrence Flannery, could accompany him and they could go as a couple. The White House agreed. The New York Post’s Cindy Adams reported the accomplished pianist received a holiday card from President George W. and Laura Bush. It was addressed to Mr. and Mrs. Michael Feinstein.
