THE AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF STATE COMPENSATION INSURANCE FUNDS: Named Ken Ross as its 2007-08 president. Ross is president and chief executive of Pinnacol, Colorado’s oldest and largest workers’ compensation insurer.

CHOTIN GROUP CORP.: Announced a new management structure under which Zachary Pashel will continue as executive vice president but assumes management of the structured finance group. In addition, Matt Krump joins the firm as an investment and surveillance analyst; Michael Piel joins as director of information technology; and J. Eric Westerhausen was named an originator/servicer surveillance analyst.

EVOLVING SYSTEMS INC.: Announced that Thad Dupper, executive vice president, worldwide sales and marketing, assumed the post of president, previously held by CEO Stephen Gartside.

METROLIST INC.: Selected Chris Badger as the company’s new director of finance and administration.

ARCHSTONE-SMITH: Announced that J. Lindsay Freeman, the company’s chief operating officer, will retire at the end of the year. He will be replaced by Charles E. Mueller Jr. Archstone-Smith also named Jack R. Callison Jr. president-U.S. operations, and Gerald R. Morgan will take over as chief financial officer.

HOLME ROBERTS & OWEN LLP: Elected Christine Daly, Tyler Y. Harvey, Jonathan A. Marks, Gino A. Maurelli, Christopher L. Ottele, Timothy M. Reynolds and Alex Ritchie as partners in the Denver office. Other newly elected partners are Jill J. Chalmers in Colorado Springs and Richard D. Flint and Christopher R. Hogle in Salt Lake City.
