DOUGLAS COUNTY – Xcel Energy crews continued to work on fixing a natural gas pipeline Sunday night that began leaking on Saturday, displacing 175 residents in Highlands Ranch.

Workers were getting ready to install a new pipe to an existing 24-inch pipe in order to bypass the leak, said Xcel Energy spokesman Mark Stutz.

Residents won’t be allowed back into their homes until the work is complete, which means they may not be back home until tomorrow morning.

Xcel Energy provided families with money and shelter during the evacuation.
