A 60-year-old Larimer County man died Monday morning when a tractor flipped backwards and fell on him.
Barry Precht died of mechanical asphyxia, according to the Larimer County coroner.
Precht’s pickup had become stuck Sunday evening in the snow at his property at 2440 E. County Road 30 near Loveland.
He returned Monday morning with a family friend to pull the truck out using a tractor, the coroner said.
But while the truck was being pulled out, the tractor rotated on its rear axle and overturned, pinning Precht, the coroner said.
The coroner’s office said there was no evidence alcohol or other drugs were factors in the accident, but toxicology results are pending.
