An affordable lunch in Aspen might be an oxymoron, but less than two blocks down from the gondola and about 15 feet below Hunter Street, Zane’s has expanded to the plaza that houses well-known Blue Maize. In the space previously home to McSorley’s, the owner of Zane’s recently brought over the Philly cheese steaks and chicken wings that were crafted at his establishment in Snowmass Village for nearly 10 years. The space in Aspen is cozy, and the pace is low-key. The old-school bar kitchen gives an added flavor to pull off the cheese- steaks. The Irish influences that made McSorley’s a staple are still around, but have been joined by a Philadelphia flare. Even with its old-school style, there are the high-tech gadgets to make the local watering hole appealing.
