Homegrown Valentines: The youth gardening club of Loveland has produced the cutest cards. A set of 6 costs $10 and contains two designs: “PEAS by my Valentine!” and “SUGAR You can’t be BEET!” Inside, they both read:
“This Valentine is coming to you With loving good wishes for the whole year through (and a reminder to eat your vegetables too)!”|lovelandyouthgardeners.org; 970-669-7182|Kristen Browning-Blas
Girl Scout cookies: As we enter the eighth week in a row of serious winter, you might be wondering where the Girl Scouts are with their cookie order forms. Sales are down 10 percent from last year in the Mile Hi Council (metro Denver) area, almost a $400,000 loss on what they hope to be $4 million in sales. Cookies are on sale until March 4 through the council office.| Call 303-778-0109, ext. 331, or visit girlscoutsmilehi.org|Kristen Browning-Blas
Romano’s Cheesecake Company Cafe: Former Channel 4 anchor Stephanie Riggs (who is producing “Fitting In,” a reality show about kids and health) told us about this locally owned bakery, where she orders treats for her son’s teachers. “The most delicious cheesecake we’ve ever tasted! This is definitely the way to your sweetie’s heart. It’s also pretty remarkable that this sweet couple has survived for so long,” says Riggs. Linda and Randy Romano recently reopened the cafe they ran on Parker Road from 1992 to 1996, in a new location, but with the same cheesecake recipe.| 12101 E.
