ALBUQUERQUE-
ExpressJet Airlines began selling tickets Monday on nonstop flights to and from Albuquerque and six other cities.
A spokeswoman for the Houston-based carrier, Kristy Nicholas, said the regional airline will begin flights to and from Ontario, Calif., Oklahoma City and Tulsa on April 16; flights to and from Sacramento, Calif., on May 21 and flights to and from Austin, Texas, on June 4. It will begin flights to and from San Antonio, Texas, sometime in May or June.
ExpressJet uses 50-seat, twin-jet Embraer ERJ-145 airplanes.
The airline said last week in a fourth-quarter financial statement that it would use 44 aircraft to start service to two dozen cities in the West, Midwest and Southeast.
The airline’s quarterly statement said ExpressJet wants to connect cities that other carriers, such as Southwest Airlines, do not serve directly.
