Centennial Airport-based Adam Aircraft announced a new president, Duncan B. “Dunc” Koerbel.

Koerbel joins Adam Aircraft from a position as vice president and general manager of Bombardier Aerospace’s Global Express and Global 5000 business in Montreal.

He succeeds Joe Walker, president since 2003, who left the company to address a serious family illness, said Adam Aircraft spokeswoman Shelly Simi. Walker will continue as a consultant.

The company also announced John Wolf will be lead director and board liaison, a newly created board position.Adam Aircraft is developing the A700 AdamJet, which it hopes to receive Federal Aviation Administration certification for in about a year. It has already developed a twin-engine piston airplane called the A500.

Adam Aircraft was founded by chairman and chief executive Rick Adam, who may down the road consider taking the company public or selling the business, according to Simi.
