Federal and state agents raided a house in the mountains behind Sedalia, where they found a large, indoor marijuana farm along with 21 weapons and more than $300,000 in cash.
The house, on South Hidden Valley Road, was the home of Robert Page, 56, who was arrested Monday in Clarksburg, West Virginia, on drug charges. Monday’s raid in Sedalia was based on information received by the South Metro Drug Task Force and agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration.
Agents confiscated 407 marijuana plants and what they estimated to be more than $30,000 worth of marijuana-growing equipment.
They confiscated $310,127 in cash, three vehicles, two recreation vehicles, a motorcycle and 21 firearms, of which three were semi-automatic assault weapons.
“This was no ordinary home with a gun safe,” said DEA spokesman Mike Turner. “The weapons were strategically placed throughout the house, propped up and ready to go.”
Turner couldn’t say if his agency had been aware of Page before he was arrested. He referred to the operation as one run by “organized criminals interested solely in making money.”
Calls to the Clarksburg police were not returned. Turner could not say what led to Page’s arrest.
