New Steamboat community
Construction is underway at Steamboat Springs’ first master-planned community. Resort Ventures West has sold 33 homesites in its 47-acre Wildhorse Meadows development, located between the mountain and downtown.
The resort community will offer a mix of housing types, including resort lodge suites, townhomes, mountain lofts, a branded hotel and attainable housing.
A walking- and biking-trail system will connect the neighborhoods in Wildhorse to the town. Wildhorse also will be connected to the base of the Steamboat ski area by a proposed gondola.
It’s easy being green for RNL
More than half of RNL Design’s staff has received Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design accreditation from the U.S. Green Building Council.
Sixty-two of the company’s employees received the accreditation, including interior designers, architects, landscape architects and engineers.
RNL is committed to applying sustainable design practices to all of its projects. It recently hosted Green Week, a series of presentations, movies, building tours and roundtable discussions focused on green design and construction.
New W. Slope Residence Inn
A new Residence Inn by Marriott opened its doors last week off Interstate 70 in Grand Junction.
The 104-suite hotel will be managed by White Lodging of Merrillville, Ind. All suites include fully equipped kitchens and free high-speed Internet access. White Lodging is scheduled to open the adjacent Courtyard Grand Junction this spring.
50+ Builders hails Coloradans
Five Coloradans were among the top 50 executives honored by 50+ Builders for transforming senior housing into a cutting-edge and diversified sector of the residential building market.
Those honored were Larry D. Armstrong, 50 Plus Community Marketing Inc. in Denver; Lita Dirks, Lita Dirks & Co. in Denver; Sara Lamia of Building Coach in Fort Collins; Doris Pearlman, Possibilities for Design in Denver; and Doug VanLerberghe of Kephart in Denver.
