Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony became the father of a baby boy at around 1:35 p.m. in Denver on Wednesday.
Anthony’s finance, LaLa Vazquez, gave birth to Kiyan Anthony, who is 5 pounds, 9 ounces and 18 1/2 inches long, according to Anthony’s agent, Calvin Andrews.
Anthony will not make the trip to Oakland to play in tonight’s game against Golden State but the NBA’s leading scorer is expected to return to action against Detroit on Friday.
”I think it will help him mature more, see the world differently,” Andrews said of Anthony becoming a father. ”It’s been overwhelming, but he’ll be fine.”
