If you’re not familiar with the Hochevar name by now, you’ve been living in a cave for the past decade. Wray’s Dylan Hochevar no longer is living in the shadow of his brother Luke, the No. 1 pick in the 2006 Major League Baseball draft. Dylan has a good shot at doing something his older brother never did – winning a state championship. While Hochevar is the biggest name in 2A, the best team may be out west in Paonia. With four state titles since 1996, the Eagles will ride the bat of catcher Tanner Ridgway. Custer County, led by pitcher Derek Pearl, has six returning starters. Custer County hoisted the school’s only championship trophy in 2001.
