Getting your player ready...

The thing about nymph fishing is if you think you’re fishing deep enough, you’re probably not. With that in mind, Bailey resident John Perizzolo came up with the ultimate in on-line weight to get flies into the cold-water action zone. It’s called Mojo Mud and it’s made from tungsten and “some secret” stuff.

“This is the final version of about 50 experiments,” Perizzolo, a full-time guide, said of his nontoxic concoction. As with other soft weights, the angler simply pinches off the desired amount and shapes it onto the monofilament. It’s available at Blue Quill Angler in Evergreen for $10.95.
