Commerce City – Chad Barrett fired a shot through goalkeeper Bouna Coundoul’s legs in the 85th minute to give the Chicago Fire a 1-1 tie with the Colorado Rapids on Sunday night in Major League Soccer.

Colorado played down a man after Roberto Brown was given a red card in the sixth minute.

The Rapids’ Hercules Gomez opened the scoring in the 58th minute. Gomez sent a hard shot past the diving Matt Pickens, then celebrated by jumping into the stands.

Both teams are 1-0-1.
