San Antonio – The AT&T Center will be filled to capacity Wednesday when San Antonio tries to even the score with the Nuggets in Game 2 of the playoffs. This morning, however, the only sound that could be heard at the empty AT&T Center was that of basketballs bouncing, nets swishing and the Nuggets answering questions from the media.
The Nuggets were very low key during their media session today but also sounded confident that they could take a 2-0 lead.
“I don’t really want to brag about our mentality yet because it’s just being tested. It’s the beginning of a challenge of a seven-game series of playing a championship team,” Nuggets coach George Karl said. “We got a pretty good grade in Game 1, but we can still fail the test if we don’t respond the right way.”
History is not on its side. Denver has lost 13 consecutive Game 2s in its playoff history. Games 3 and 4 will be at the Pepsi Center.
