Reader Robert V. Hunt Jr. repeats the canard that “If Bill Clinton could be impeached for irrelevant personal behavior, then Bush and Cheney can be impeached & .” Clinton was not impeached for adultery; he was impeached for perjury committed during judicial proceedings, which is a felony. Just ask Scooter Libby. Besides being impeached, but not convicted, Clinton was disbarred from practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, heavily fined in U.S. District Court, and suspended from practice by the Arkansas Supreme Court. A felony is a high crime, as in “high crimes and misdemeanors.”
