Go fish. Dot. Com. That’s where you’ll find Dennis Baker, a.k.a. Denton Rose, star of “The Denton Rose Show,” the story of a Denver-based private eye specializing in extreme workouts, time travel and ghost hunting.
He won a contest to get his own channel featured on gofish.com – now he has 13 episodes up and running. He was recently featured in a segment on Fox 31, which he e-mailed out to the world with the advisory: “Hey check me out on FOX 31! Yeah the reporter was a sweetie (got her phone number, too!).”
He hit on Tammy Vigil – which is going to get him nowhere as she has a boyfriend.
“Denton Rose is always hitting on girls and never getting any,” explains Baker. “He’s kind of a ladies man in his own mind.”
Baker is shooing the show every week – and it’s all over and all about Denver. Gofish.com gets 5 million to 7 million hits a month, he says. So maybe we’re all famous.
Sail away
Boulder’s annual crazy race Kinetics kicks off Saturday morning with 44 teams dragging, riding and floating their contraptions around the Boulder Reservoir.
The names of the teams sometimes show that old college humor – but not as much as they once did. This year’s roster includes Shameless Self-Promoters, We Like To Watch, Glubble Warming, A Reptile Dysfunction, Diet Coke Mentos Team, Borney Gone Bad, Certain Death Can for Cutie, Banana Hammock, Snakes on a Hydro-Plane, It’s Not Whether You Win Or Lose: It’s Whether Or Not You Get Back In Time For Free Beer.
Vote for Goldie
Aspen Times writer Meredith Carroll thinks it’s time to pick a local star for mayor of Aspen in the May 8 election.
Jack Nicholson knows something about being a boss. Robert Wagner and Jill St. John could run as a team. Michael Douglas “would undoubtedly do well overseeing Aspen’s $100-plus million budget.”
But no one would be better than Goldie Hawn. “Never mind that Goldie technically lives 15 miles outside of Aspen,” writes Carroll in her endorsement.
