When Tobey Maguire promotes a film like “Spider Man,” he travels in style. According to the New York Post, Maguire has an entourage of 10, including his fiancée, Jennifer Meyer, their daughter, Ruby, and a personal chef who prepares vegetarian meals.
Tyra Banks coughed up $100 for an unpaid dinner tab at the Brooklyn Diner in New York. The New York Daily News reported Banks, Russell Simmons and his two daughters had lunch at the West 57th Street eatery on April 21 and failed to pay the tab. “We’re getting up and I’m like, ‘Russell, I got it,’ and I’m opening up my wallet and (he said), ‘No Tyra, I got it.”‘ Banks explained on her daytime TV show. “We leave and I read the Daily News and they’re saying that I’m cheap and I didn’t pay the bill.” Banks also left a $100 tip.
Jennifer Garner ended those pregnancy rumors during a belated 35th birthday celebration on April 21. Garner, whose birthday was April 17, knocked back a mojito and red wine at the Penthouse of the Huntley hotel in Los Angeles, the New York Daily News reported.
Hugh Grant was arrested and questioned by police after photographer Ian Whittaker accused the actor of abusing and kicking him, before throwing a tub of baked beans at him. Pictures taken April 24 outside Grant’s home on Redcliffe Road in London show the actor with the beans raised above his head. No charges were filed.
Andy Williams of “Moon River” fame, said in an interview with the Daily Mail preceding his summer tour of the U.K. that his lowest point came in the 1950s. “When I was about 23, my brothers decided that they no longer wanted to sing. I decided to strike out on my own. It was an incredibly lonely … and very hard financially. At one point I was eating Alpo dog food, dividing the cans between my dog and myself. It didn’t taste that bad when you heated it up, actually, just like meat and gravy.”
