PARACHUTE, Colo.-

A high school was locked down Wednesday as a precaution as authorities searched nearby areas for a man accused of pointing a rifle at his brother-in-law during an argument.

No shots were fired, said Tanny McGinnis of the Garfield County sheriff’s office. The armed man was not at the school, authorities said.

Police were searching for Jared Burtard, 21, who at one point was believed to be near Grand Valley High School.
