REDSTONE, Colo.-
The century-old mansion of steel magnate John Cleveland in Redstone will reopen to tourists on June 1st after being closed for three years after the Internal Revenue Service took it over during an investigation of an alleged multimillion-dollar fraud scheme.
The castle’s caretaker, Sue McEvoy, says she sure it will lots of tourists.
Businesses—the ones that haven’t closed—agree.
Bob Stifter, owner of Tiffany’s antique shop, said he and other businesses need the tours to draw people to Redstone.
Extensive repairs have added to the delay in opening.
Five rooms inside the building and its exterior cannot be changed because they are covered by a state historic foundation easement.
