Affordable homes in Boulder

California developer Bancroft Capital plans to offer 39 permanently affordable residences in The Peloton, the $142 million mixed-use project it’s building in Boulder.

To qualify for an affordable home, a household’s annual gross income must fall at or below the following income limits:

• Household of one, $47,731;

• Household of two, $54,719;

• Household of three, $64,470;

• Household of four, $68,300.

Affordable homes will include lofts, one-bedroom and two-bedroom condominiums with prices ranging from $92,000 to $182,000.

Project set for City Park area

Sprocket Design Build Inc. is poised to start work on its first project in the City Park neighborhood.

The development will include 10 units in three buildings at East 16th Avenue and Gilpin Street. Each unit will have a private entry, three bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths. Units range from 1,400 square feet to 1,500 square feet and are priced in the low $400,000s.

Dee Chirafisi and Liz Richards of Kentwood City Properties are marketing the project.

Meeting to reveal Derby plans

The Derby Business Association and landowners will discuss the new sub-area plan and planned unit development and design standards at 8 a.m. May 21 at the Civic Center in Commerce City.

Other topics include design concepts for 72nd Avenue, the Derby Daze event on June 9 and the Reilly Park dedication and grand opening celebration for the Derby Community Center on July 14.

Denver 5th as R&D location

Denver ranks fifth among the top 10 life science research and development locations, according to the May issue of Site Selection magazine.

Meanwhile, the magazine highlights Colorado Springs as a city that’s seeing an influx of life-science companies. The magazine also ranks Boulder the No. 1 highest-performing secondary city in the United States by venture capital deals.
