Getting your player ready...

Apparently our honey-loving friends up in Steamboat Springs are just as tired of the standard peanut butter-and-chocolate mix in the protein bar market as we are. And that’s good news for fans of bar food everywhere. Honey Stinger – the same company that brought that sweet organic honey flavor to energy bars and gels back in 2002 – recently introduced two new tastes to its growing line of protein bars. The new Dark Chocolate Cherry Almond and Dark Chocolate Coconut Almond protein bars (MSRP: $2.25) still feature 20 grams of protein, 23 essential vitamins and minerals, calcium and antioxidants, but with zero trans fats and no partially hydrogenated oils. What else do you get with your 390-calorie, 3.2-ounce bar? You guessed it: almost an ounce of 100 percent USDA-certified succulent organic honey that would have Yogi Bear and Homer Simpson in a battle royal over who gets to dip their mitts in it. The loser gets a peanut-butter cup.
