National rates on 30-year mortgages jumped to the highest level in seven months as hopes diminished for Federal Reserve rate cuts anytime soon. Mortgage giant Freddie Mac reported Thursday that 30-year, fixed-rate mortgages averaged 6.37 percent nationwide last week, up from 6.21 percent the week before. It was the highest level for 30-year mortgages since they averaged 6.40 percent the week of Oct. 26. Below are average mortgage rates in Denver, Adams and Arapahoe counties as of Thursday and the previous 52 weeks. The one-year Treasury bill average reported by the Federal Reserve Bank is 4.86 percent. The Cost of Funds Index for March from the Federal Home Loan Bank (11th District) was 4.299 percent.
