Colorado coach Jeff Bzdelik announced Casey Crawford, a 6-foot-9, 225-pound forward from Wake Forest, will transfer to the Buffaloes. Crawford, originally from Overland, Kan., played one season with the Demon Deacons, averaging 1.1 points in nine games. He scored a career-high five points in a 94-58 loss to Air Force in November. He will sit out the 2007-08 season according to NCAA transfer rules.
New Colorado State basketball coach Tim Miles got his first commitment for the class entering in the fall of 2008. Jesse Carr, an all-Nebraska 6-foot-2 guard from Class C-1 state champion Ainsworth, told the Omaha World-Herald on Tuesday he had committed to sign with the Rams. Miles recruited Carr for North Dakota State prior to moving to CSU. Carr also drew interest from Wichita State and Nevada. – Natalie Meisler
