Durango – City Manager Bob Ledger will retire in August after 24 years on the job.
“You reach the point where you say, ‘You know, it’s probably time for me to go and do something else,’ and I think that’s where I’m at,” he said Monday.
Ledger, 66, helped oversee improvements at the city’s airport terminal, construction of a recreation center and wastewater treatment plant and the establishment of a recycling program.
Mayor Doug Lyon said Ledger had done a “spectacular” job.
The City Council will hire a replacement.
Ledger said he plans to stay in Durango.
