DES MOINES, Iowa—The Powerball jackpot was expected to rise to an estimated $89 million for Saturday after no one matched all six numbers in the midweek drawing.
Wednesday’s winning numbers were 23, 31, 32, 37 and 55. The Powerball was 35 and the multiplier was 3.
Players matching all five numbers and the Powerball would have won or shared the $76.8 million jackpot.
Tickets that match the first five numbers, but miss the Powerball, win $200,000 each, and there were six of those. They were sold in Arizona (2), Indiana, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
Colorado’s top prize was $30,000 for a Power Play ticket that matched the Powerball and four of the other numbers.
Powerball was created in 1992 and launched in Colorado in 2001.
The game is now played in 29 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
