How can we miss you when you won’t go away?

Well, we do miss Lisa Herzlich because she did go away – to work for Phil Anschutz in Los Angeles at his extra-high-profile project, L.A. LIVE.

The former Denver marketeer is back in town this weekend – and was honored Thursday night at a dinner for 240 supporters of the Cherry Creek Arts Festival, which opens this morning and runs through Sunday. She chaired the fest last year.

So what’s the high-life like on the Left Coast and just how much does she miss Denver?

“L.A. is great,” she says, six months into her new life. “But it’s been a big adjustment. Just getting on the highway! But there are so many interesting people here.”

Interesting people she’s worked with – like Andy Garcia, the Rev. Jesse Jackson and Wolfgang Puck. And she’ll be at the party this month to welcome David and Victoria Beckham to town when he joins Anschutz’s soccer team, the Los Angeles Galaxy.

As for Denver, she still has a 303 area code on her cell. “I miss my friends,” she says. “I miss the people. Thank God for e-mail and BlackBerrys. And I can keep up with your column, Husted. I know what you’ve been doing.”
