A man was killed early today when his car rolled into a corn field about six miles east of Fort Morgan, state patrol officials say.

A 1997 Chrysler Sebring was found at about 7:50 a.m. near Morgan County Road “R,” said Master Trooper Ron Watkins, spokesman for the Colorado State Patrol.

CSP officers found a body about 75 feet from the car, which had rolled several times, Watkins said.

It is unknown when the crash happened and the driver, who was the only occupant of the car, has not yet been identified, he said.

The driver had been driving west on the road at a high speed when he lost control of the car and it went off the left side of the road, Watkins said.
