NEDERLAND, Colo.—Wildlife agents are trying to catch a mountain lion that killed a miniature horse near Nederland.
Traps have been set up in the area and will put the animal down.
Otsie Stowell said he found the remains of his 15-year-old pet horse, “Bodacious,” on Sunday.
The mountain lion then showed up at his house Monday and yesterday to munch on the remains of the 400-pound horse.
Jennifer Churchill, spokeswoman for the regional Division of Wildlife office, said managers are concerned the animal is becoming more aggressive. She said it could be responsible for the death of a pony and llama in August in the same area.
