DES MOINES, Iowa—The Powerball jackpot was expected to rise to an estimated $29 million for Saturday after no one matched all six numbers in the midweek drawing.
Wednesday’s winning numbers were 5, 24, 26, 33 and 47. The Powerball was 1, and the multiplier was 4.
Players matching all five numbers and the Powerball would have won or shared the $20 million jackpot.
A Power Play ticket sold in Oklahoma matched the first five numbers only to win $800,000.
The top prize in Colorado was $40,000 for a Power Play ticket that hit the Powerball, plus four of the other numbers.
Powerball was created in 1992 and launched in Colorado in 2001.
It’s now played in 29 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
